Bolens Dealer Show 1972
This picture was taken by my dad, George Burdick, back in 1971 at the 1972 Model Year Bolen's Dealer Show in Concord, NH. This show was at the now demolished Highway Hotel. I can't imagine how anyone was able to keep their eyes on the new sleds, with those hotties in the background. To see some of the Burdick Family Bolens Collection CLICK HERE.

Andrew Taylor's Northway Racer
An incredibly cool sled that has found its way into the collection of a person that might deserve it more than anyone else, Andrew Tayler, a former employee of Northway!!! For the complete restoration story CLICK HERE.

Model T Restoration Fund
Well, it is time to start a new project at the museum, and with the recent winter event just a memory, there is one "sled" that the museum directors have our eyes on. Yup, you know the one, a real NH sled so to speak. The one that coined the term "snowmobile." If you have clicked on the event videos listed below in the Dead Sled Wrenchers site link, you know what we are thinking about. Our Model T Ford White Snowmobile is in need of a full restoration, and we need the sled community help. We know the project will be the most expensive venture we have undertaken to date. Although an exact price is not known, we can imagine it may be in the neighborhood of $5,000 - $10,000 depending on the extent of the project. We are looking for donations of all sizes, and will post our daily donation total as it grows. Do you have the disire or ability to donate a larger sum of money? If so, we have a few ideas. Want to have naming/advertising rights on the sides of the Model T truck bed? Want to have a brass name plate with your name on the rear bed of the truck? Want to make any size contribution? Have a service you can offer as a donation? If so, visit our Model T Restoration Page. Have a way you can help, shoot us an Email.

Big Red.. AKA The RUPP DRAGSTER
My dad, George Burdick, took the bottom photo back around 1970. It is of the Rupp Dragster, built to compete for the world speed records of the day with its FORD V-8 Powerplant producing a claimed 525 hp. The top picture is of it more recently. I am told, by several people that responded to the first posting, that it is being restored by Phil Williams of Michigan. In addition to this info, Jay Egan pointed me in the direction of this cool cat site outlining the BOSS CAT LEGACY Go under "the other guys" to see the Rupp and many more speed run machines. Have a photo or an issue you want everyone to see, shoot us an Email.

In the market for a used van....
Not sure how you take this van for a test drive, but here is a sight I saw yesterday, as I tried to find our Hotel in Quebec City. This van was for sale in a used car lot. The owner saw me taking the picture, and was not that happy, after an excahange of a few choice words (in french, and definately not an invitation to take more) I decided I had enough and we continued to our hotel. Great City, and sure hope to come back in the snow and take advantage of the GREAT SNOWMOBILING!!!

Bombardier Museum Engine Exhibit
I was at the Bombardier Museum in Valcourt Quebec today, and WOW.... a new exhibit was running. It is a ROTAX engine exhibit, starting with the 1960 Kohler four stroke and going all the way through the 4-tec engine used in the latest version of the Elite. I mean EVERYTHING!!! This exhibit rocks, and is a short term program, meaning it ends this coming Labor Day (September 2006). After that the museum is closing, and the "industrial" portion of the display is being reworked and will be reopened in February 2007. This will be the 70th Anniversary of the JAB's rubber cog patent, and the 25th Anniversary of the Grand Prix. Anyways, I would suggest, if you have the ability to get to the museum prior to Sept 2006, do so, and see the great engine exhibit. 25-30 ROTAX engines on display!!!! Make a weekend of it, take in the factory tour, don't miss out. Click on the pic to check out their website.

Not Vintage But....
This past year, on a trip through Montana, on our motorcycle, we stumbled across Crazy Mt. Extreme Snowmobiles. Apart from being a cool place, the owner was GREAT. Showing us around and even showing us this cool advertisement picture.
